Be the Change You Want to See in the World
Most of us are fed up with this world and have high hopes for a better society and future. You have also heard the saying, ‘be the change you wish to see,’ and it serves as a reminder that how each of us lives our everyday lives matters. This way of thinking can help us all to make a change in our communities. This could be via volunteering, doing kind acts or other social justice work: every little thing helps. Keep it in mind, ‘be the change you want to see’ is more than a simple quote; it turned into an action. We live our values every day, and when we do, others follow. This was true for the heroes of the United States, many of whom began by embracing precisely this principle and showing that little things can blossom into great deeds. So the next time you have a challenge in front of you, you know what to ask—what can I do to be that change I want to see—and take action. If we all did our part, together we could create a society built on compassion and equity. In the end, it takes ‘be the change you wish to see’ and leads us towards a brighter future – one together! Change is from within.
